I liked the friendly staff and the low cost of a room in a part of Barcelona that is blooming. And I just loved the specially made switch in the room to turn on the radio and listen to some old time classics.
The very small elevator and stairs were not very suitable for carrying a backpack.
Service was brilliant!!! The hostel is in the city center. The stuff was very pleasent. The service and quality was much higher than price.
Nice place, good location, friendly staff, quiet. It's actually not in a bad neighbourhood, if you approach via Ronda del Sant Antoni. It is near to the old town and everything, easy to go for a walk in an interesting neighbourhood without having to take the metro.
The El Raval neighbourhood might seem spooky at night, but there really is no need to go through it to get to the hotel. You can walk from Ronda del Sant Antoni instead and just turn in to Carrer el Tigre and you see the sign of the hotel right there. The rooms of the hotel are small, but rather nice, so it didn't bother us.
Good location. And in walking distance from the night life.
The room was very poor and with no furniture. Only the bed. Should be at least one table or something. And without soap for washing the hands.
Location, price and surprisingly clean.
Staff was friendly but didn't speak english. No curtain in the shower
The radio + the Stadt + the Service (New towels every das) :)
very basic but the rooms are clean and you have comfort...
good value for money
very noisy at night (horrible neighbourhood), creepy building, creepy and small room, no drawers, no english at the reception, poor indications.
This hotel is a good choice for a budget traveller. You get basic facilities, hotel is fairly clean and it is at a good location.
Passages and the elevator are very narrow, but just adequate. Shower had no curtains, so the bathroom would get quite sprayed during a shower.
The position is very good, central and nice. The hostal is really basic, but we had a wonderful view on barcelona decks, the bed was ok and the room was clean. Reception is open 24 hours, so good if you want to party :) no air coniditoning! good for backpackers or for rocking holidays!
Good Hostel, Centric place
The location and price of the Hostal is perfect. It's basic but clean and comfortable. Having travelled quite lot I found this Hostal to be very good, although it may not be suitable for those who have not experienced some of the places experienced through backpacking. However if you are willing to keep an open mind you can't go wrong with this bargain! The building inside is traditional in style, iny corridors and shutters to give you the typical Spanish feel. It is approx 5 - 10 minutes walk away from Las Ramblas, we did find short cuts once we became familiar to the area. The area in which Hostal Radio has so many cool and trendy bars and eateries. Our personal favouraite was a bar called Manchester great music, atmosphere and bar staff! Also don't miss happy hour a euro a beer. We also found several small Spanish bars that offered great deals on jugs of sangria. Our favourite quick stop for a bite to eat was a really cool hot dog shop, offering traditional hotdogs and tofu dogs with a variety of toppings and sauces, delicious.
The only thing that may bother travellers staying here is the noise of the Hostal. It can be quite noisy as doors closing can echo throughout the building, this was a minor flaw but something we got use to and didn't really notice throughout the rest of our stay.
the hotel stuff is very friendly, our room was nice, clean and quiet. Would come again and will recommend to my friends,
The hostel is situated near University metro (5 minutes walk), close to Catalunya square (10 minutes walk). The staff was very friendly, they offered us maps, water and infomation about the tourist objectives. In the last day they allowed us to keep our luggages at the reception, after check-out.The room was clean, with a bed, a chair and a tv set. We had a private bathroom, the cleaning lady changed the towels and cleaned the room every day. The room had a radio system that played good music. I reccomend this hostel for the tourists that need a clean place to sleep and only use the room for clothes storage, shower and a sleep.
In the hostel nearby there is a weird area, but we didn't have any problems. You should always enter in the hostel using the entrance in the boulevard. You should evoid walkling during the night on the little streets around the hostel. We also had a problem with the shower (it i imposible to wash without washing your hair too), it didn't pour too well, but we didn't signal this to the staff. The room didn't have a closet, so we kept our clothes on the chair. The noise was very big, the rooms have thin walls, you can hear anything that happens outside, in other rooms or in the hallway.
Room very small, more of a single room with a double bed - no room for clothes. Hotel situated in a dodgy area, prostitutes hanging around outside.
